Facilitator Note 7: Thank you and next steps

June 24, 2020

Dear Pandemic Supermind Activation,
Thank you for participating in the Pandemic Supermind Activation! You collectively submitted over 300 contributions and cast over 1,000 votes. We appreciate so much the quality, creativity, and breadth of the contributions submitted. Congratulations on all of your fantastic work! While the exercise has formally concluded, we look forward to continuing to engage with you in the coming months.
What’s Next?
During the summer and fall, we will release chapter installments synthesizing the findings of the exercise, which will be featured on the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence website: Our first release is of the "First Findings", which covers our initial synthesis of the actionable themes that emerged. This will be available tomorrow, on June 25, 2020.
Additionally, based on the actionable themes that emerged during the Supermind Activation, we will generate a series of open crowdsourcing challenges for global communities to contribute via our newly launched platform, the Pandemic Response CoLab. The Pandemic Response CoLab will help individuals and groups work together to solve practical problems created by the COVID-19 pandemic. By leveraging an open online collaboration platform, we hope to mobilize innovators, communities, businesses, and others to develop actionable solutions to real problems. Our first challenges are on mask design and innovation, and can be found here:

Our second in a series of Pandemic Response Catalyst Conversations,  Harnessing Data, Diligence and Collective Intelligence, will feature participants from the Supermind Activation exercise who will share insights that surfaced. During the event, we’ll formally invite the broader scientific community to use the Supermind findings as a catalyst for further activity on the Pandemic Response CoLab platform.
